Question: What sort of experience is needed for some of the more common Purchasing Management positions?

Answer: The kind of experience needed for some of the more common Purchasing Management is sourcing, price negotiations, vendor selections and qualifications, and inventory control.  These areas of experience would be great as a starting point for getting the required skills to be a Purchasing Management Professional.  Of course, more experience is better when looking to advance in the Purchasing Management field.  The type of experience can sometimes depend on the industry you are entering.  For example experience for a purchasing Management professional in a manufacturing environment may differ from experience for a Purchasing Management Professional in the medical environment. Some of the experience, however, can be used in both environments.
