Answer: Purchasing Management is a profession that has constant changes.  It requires the professional to continuously encounter training and classes to stay abreast of not only the profession but the industry.  Purchasing Management professionals have to also be able to adapt to changes in the global market.  If a shortage of parts is happening in another country, the Purchasing Management professional must be aware of this and prepare for alternative sources in order to continue to support the company’s customers.  The #1 thing which holds back most Purchasing Management professional’s careers is the lack of continuous training and education to stay on top of new changes and developments in the global marketplace.
