Question: What are some of the different job titles a Purchasing Management professional might hold?

Answer: There are various job titles that represent the Purchasing Management profession.  A Purchasing Management Professional can be called a buyer, associate buyer, or Senior Buyer.  These titles usually consist of duties such as purchasing of materials, services, and products needed to support manufacturing. These titles can also perform duties such as vendor negotiations and selection and sometimes inventory control.  Other job titles for purchasing Management Professionals are Materials Manager, Purchasing Agent and Purchasing Specialist. These titles may consist of the same functions as the previous titles, but possibly requiring some level of planning.  These titles can require the Purchasing Management professional to have more technical skills.
