Answer: If Purchasing Management is your passion, feed the passion. If you are currently employed in the Purchasing department, look for ways to increase your knowledge of the field. Take training classes, get more exposure to the various avenues that Purchasing Management can improve a company’s position within their market. Keep on top of the new developments in the field and present those that are relevant to your management. Obtain professional certification (such as the PME through GTC Institute)to increase your credentials and professional standing within the Purchasing Management field. Always seek ways to network with other professionals in the Purchasing Management field. Networking is a good way to learn how other companies handle some of the same situations you are confronted with.
