Answer: This is where your experience and educational background will make you a stronger contender for the position.  The hiring manager will look at the fact that you have taken the time and money to invest in becoming professionally certified in the field.  Having these credentials will give you an edge over your competition.  It causes you to stand out over the crowd.  Another thing is staying on top of the new developments in the field.  If you are capable of going into an interview and discussing  new developments in the field of Purchasing Management that would be an impressive thing to a potential employer.
