Question: How can I increase my chances of being hired for a Purchasing Management position while I’m still in school?

Answer: Get experience in the Purchasing Management field while you are in school.  This could be through an internship or volunteering.  Talk to officers of your local purchasing organization and see if there are any opportunities for students to get involved with the  association before graduating.  If this is possible you could possibly become a member at little to no cost.  By doing this you are gaining some knowledge and exposure to the industry.  Also offer your free services to some of the members of the organization to help them out in their office a few hours a week to get the exposure to the industry.  Also remember this person can be used as a professional reference when you start to search for a full time position.
