Question: How can I find a valuable mentor to help me in my Purchasing Management career?

Answer: Networking is a good source to find a valuable mentor to help in your Purchasing Management career.  It is a great idea to find someone when you are initially embarking on this career path.  If you are fortunate enough to get an internship, your boss during this internship could be a great candidate for a mentor.  This person would also be a good professional reference when seeking a fulltime job.  When looking for a mentor, seek someone who not only works in the industry you are interested in, but also someone who has had experience in various industries. This person can give guidance of the dos and the don’ts of being a purchasing professional in various situations.
