Question: Do Purchasing Management professionals need to worry about continuing education?

Answer: Yes, many firms require a particular number of hours of continuing education on an annual basis.  Also, in order to maintain professional certification purchasing professionals are required to have a number of continuing education hours to maintain the professional certification.   Continuing education also keeps Purchasing Management professionals aware of new developments within the Purchasing Management field.  It helps them to explore areas where the purchasing field is changing, growing, improving, and expanding. It also broadens the knowledge of the profession and the areas that the professionals may not be knowledgeable of.  Continuing education helps the individual to stay abreast of the advances in the profession and sometimes in the industry.
